Why Android prayer notifications may arrive late

Short answer

Android can delay or silence an app notification because of its notification channel, Battery Saver or manufacturer-specific background restrictions. First confirm that Tevazu notifications are allowed and alerting, then reproduce the issue without Battery Saver. Also verify automatic date, time zone and the location shown in Tevazu. Menu names differ between manufacturers.

Applies to: Android 8.0 or later; settings and battery-control names vary by manufacturer and Android version.

Check these settings in order

  1. Open Settings → Notifications → App notifications → Tevazu. Enable the relevant notification categories and choose Alerting rather than Silent where that choice exists.
  2. Open notification history, if your device provides it. Check whether the reminder arrived silently, was dismissed, or never appeared; this separates presentation settings from a scheduling problem.
  3. Turn Battery Saver off for one controlled test. Google notes that Battery Saver limits background activity and can delay some app features and network connections.
  4. Review Tevazu under Settings → Apps → Battery. If the manufacturer offers Restricted, Optimized and Unrestricted modes, temporarily remove the restriction for the reproduction.
  5. Confirm automatic date, time zone and Tevazu location. If a reminder stays late, contact support with manufacturer/model, Android and Tevazu versions, expected time, received time and battery mode.
