Surah Al-Mursalaat in Arabic and English

1. 1 Al-Mursalaat 77:1

   وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًاۙ

   Transliteration

   Waalmursalāti ʿurfān

   Translation

   By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

2. 2 Al-Mursalaat 77:2

   فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًاۙ

   Transliteration

   Faalʿāṣifāti ʿaṣfān

   Translation

   And the winds that blow violently

3. 3 Al-Mursalaat 77:3

   وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًاۙ

   Transliteration

   Waalnnāshirāti nashrān

   Translation

   And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]

4. 4 Al-Mursalaat 77:4

   فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًاۙ

   Transliteration

   Faalfāriqāti farqān

   Translation

   And those [angels] who bring criterion

5. 5 Al-Mursalaat 77:5

   فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًاۙ

   Transliteration

   Faalmulqiyāti thikrān

   Translation

   And those [angels] who deliver a message

6. 6 Al-Mursalaat 77:6

   عُذْرًا اَوْ نُذْرًاۙ

   Transliteration

   ʿuthran aw nuthran

   Translation

   As justification or warning,

7. 7 Al-Mursalaat 77:7

   اِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌؕ

   Transliteration

   Innamā tooʿadoona lawāqiʿun

   Translation

   Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

8. 8 Al-Mursalaat 77:8

   فَاِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Faithā alnnujoomu ṭumisat

   Translation

   So when the stars are obliterated

9. 9 Al-Mursalaat 77:9

   وَاِذَا السَّمَٓاءُ فُرِجَتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waithā alssamāo furijat

   Translation

   And when the heaven is opened

10. 10 Al-Mursalaat 77:10

    وَاِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْۙ

    Transliteration

    Waithā aljibālu nusifat

    Translation

    And when the mountains are blown away

11. 11 Al-Mursalaat 77:11

    وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتْؕ

    Transliteration

    Waithā alrrusulu oqqitat

    Translation

    And when the messengers' time has come...

12. 12 Al-Mursalaat 77:12

    لِاَيِّ يَوْمٍ اُجِّلَتْؕ

    Transliteration

    Liayyi yawmin ojjilat

    Translation

    For what Day was it postponed?

13. 13 Al-Mursalaat 77:13

    لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِۚ

    Transliteration

    Liyawmi alfaṣli

    Translation

    For the Day of Judgement.

14. 14 Al-Mursalaat 77:14

    وَمَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِؕ

    Transliteration

    Wamā adrāka mā yawmu alfaṣli

    Translation

    And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?

15. 15 Al-Mursalaat 77:15

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

16. 16 Al-Mursalaat 77:16

    اَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْاَوَّلٖينَؕ

    Transliteration

    Alam nuhliki alawwaleena

    Translation

    Did We not destroy the former peoples?

17. 17 Al-Mursalaat 77:17

    ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْاٰخِرٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Thumma nutbiʿuhumu alākhireena

    Translation

    Then We will follow them with the later ones.

18. 18 Al-Mursalaat 77:18

    كَذٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Kathālika nafʿalu bialmujrimeena

    Translation

    Thus do We deal with the criminals.

19. 19 Al-Mursalaat 77:19

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

20. 20 Al-Mursalaat 77:20

    اَلَمْ نَخْلُقْكُمْ مِنْ مَٓاءٍ مَهٖينٍۙ

    Transliteration

    Alam nakhluqkum min māin maheenin

    Translation

    Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?

21. 21 Al-Mursalaat 77:21

    فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فٖي قَرَارٍ مَكٖينٍۙ

    Transliteration

    Fajaʿalnāhu fee qarārin makeenin

    Translation

    And We placed it in a firm lodging

22. 22 Al-Mursalaat 77:22

    اِلٰى قَدَرٍ مَعْلُومٍۙ

    Transliteration

    Ilā qadarin maʿloomin

    Translation

    For a known extent.

23. 23 Al-Mursalaat 77:23

    فَقَدَرْنَاࣗ فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ

    Transliteration

    Faqadarnā faniʿma alqādiroona

    Translation

    And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.

24. 24 Al-Mursalaat 77:24

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

25. 25 Al-Mursalaat 77:25

    اَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْاَرْضَ كِفَاتًاۙ

    Transliteration

    Alam najʿali alarḏa kifātān

    Translation

    Have We not made the earth a container

26. 26 Al-Mursalaat 77:26

    اَحْيَٓاءً وَاَمْوَاتًاۙ

    Transliteration

    Aḥyāan waamwātān

    Translation

    Of the living and the dead?

27. 27 Al-Mursalaat 77:27

    وَجَعَلْنَا فٖيهَا رَوَاسِىَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَاَسْقَيْنَاكُمْ مَٓاءً فُرَاتًاۜ

    Transliteration

    Wajaʿalnā feehā rawāsiya shāmikhātin waasqaynākum māan furātān

    Translation

    And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.

28. 28 Al-Mursalaat 77:28

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

29. 29 Al-Mursalaat 77:29

    اِنْطَلِقُٓوا اِلٰى مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُونَۚ

    Transliteration

    Inṭaliqoo ilā mā kuntum bihi tukaththiboona

    Translation

    [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.

30. 30 Al-Mursalaat 77:30

    اِنْطَلِقُٓوا اِلٰى ظِلٍّ ذٖي ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍۙ

    Transliteration

    Inṭaliqoo ilā thillin thee thalāthi shuʿabin

    Translation

    Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns

31. 31 Al-Mursalaat 77:31

    لَا ظَلٖيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنٖي مِنَ اللَّهَبِؕ

    Transliteration

    Lā thaleelin walā yughnee mina allahabi

    Translation

    [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."

32. 32 Al-Mursalaat 77:32

    اِنَّهَا تَرْمٖي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِۚ

    Transliteration

    Innahā tarmee bishararin kaalqaṣri

    Translation

    Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,

33. 33 Al-Mursalaat 77:33

    كَاَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌؕ

    Transliteration

    Kaannahu jimālatun ṣufrun

    Translation

    As if they were yellowish [black] camels.

34. 34 Al-Mursalaat 77:34

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

35. 35 Al-Mursalaat 77:35

    هٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنْطِقُونَۙ

    Transliteration

    Hāthā yawmu lā yanṭiqoona

    Translation

    This is a Day they will not speak,

36. 36 Al-Mursalaat 77:36

    وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

    Transliteration

    Walā yuthanu lahum fayaʿtathiroona

    Translation

    Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.

37. 37 Al-Mursalaat 77:37

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

38. 38 Al-Mursalaat 77:38

    هٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِۚ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْاَوَّلٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Hāthā yawmu alfaṣli jamaʿnākum waalawwaleena

    Translation

    This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.

39. 39 Al-Mursalaat 77:39

    فَاِنْ كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكٖيدُونِ

    Transliteration

    Fain kāna lakum kaydun fakeedooni

    Translation

    So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.

40. 40 Al-Mursalaat 77:40

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَࣖ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

41. 41 Al-Mursalaat 77:41

    اِنَّ الْمُتَّقٖينَ فٖي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍۙ

    Transliteration

    Inna almuttaqeena fee thilālin waʿuyoonin

    Translation

    Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

42. 42 Al-Mursalaat 77:42

    وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَؕ

    Transliteration

    Wafawākiha mimmā yashtahoona

    Translation

    And fruits from whatever they desire,

43. 43 Al-Mursalaat 77:43

    كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنٖٓيـًٔا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

    Transliteration

    Kuloo waishraboo haneean bimā kuntum taʿmaloona

    Translation

    [Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

44. 44 Al-Mursalaat 77:44

    اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Innā kathālika najzee almuḥsineena

    Translation

    Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

45. 45 Al-Mursalaat 77:45

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

46. 46 Al-Mursalaat 77:46

    كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلٖيلًا اِنَّكُمْ مُجْرِمُونَ

    Transliteration

    Kuloo watamattaʿoo qaleelan innakum mujrimoona

    Translation

    [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.

47. 47 Al-Mursalaat 77:47

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

48. 48 Al-Mursalaat 77:48

    وَاِذَا قٖيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ

    Transliteration

    Waithā qeela lahumu irkaʿoo lā yarkaʿoona

    Translation

    And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.

49. 49 Al-Mursalaat 77:49

    وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبٖينَ

    Transliteration

    Waylun yawmaithin lilmukaththibeena

    Translation

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

50. 50 Al-Mursalaat 77:50

    فَبِاَيِّ حَدٖيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ḥadeethin baʿdahu yuminoona

    Translation

    Then in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe?
