Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tevazu mobile applications for iOS and Android (together, the "App") collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language and kept it as short as honesty allows.
In short
- No accounts — Tevazu does not ask for your name, email, phone number or any other personal identifier.
- Your location is used to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction; location permission can be changed in system settings.
- Your exact coordinates are never sent to us or to analytics; to look up prayer times, only the selected city or district is requested from a prayer-times data service.
- The App uses Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer and Meta; their purposes and controls are listed below.
- Optional purchases (Tevazu Pro) are processed by the App Store or Google Play and managed by RevenueCat. We never see your payment details.
- You can reset your data at any time from the app’s Settings, or by clearing app data on your device.
Mobile App data processing
This section lists the third-party services integrated into the mobile App, what each one is used for, and how you can control it.
Data controller
The data controller for personal data processed through Tevazu is Furkan Mert Karaman, Çobançeşme Mah. Sanayi Cad. No: 44 A/H, Bahçelievler, İstanbul 34197, Türkiye. You can reach us at [email protected] for any privacy-related question or request.
Information we do not collect
Tevazu does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, postal address, contacts, photos, videos, messages, files, calendar entries, health data or web-browsing history. The App contains no embedded web browser.
Information we do collect
Tevazu collects only the information needed to provide the features you use. Where data is shared with a third party, we name that party and explain the purpose. All transfers are encrypted in transit.
Location
Prayer times and the Qibla direction require a location. With your permission, the App uses your device’s location; you can also choose a city manually instead. Your exact coordinates are not sent to us. To turn coordinates into a place name, the App uses the operating system’s location services (on iOS, Apple’s geocoding service).
To download prayer times, the App requests the timetable for the selected city or district from a prayer-times data service; that service receives only the place identifier and, like any web server, your IP address. The Qibla direction is calculated on your device. Location data is removed from analytics events before they leave your device. You can change location permission in system settings at any time.
Analytics and diagnostics
To understand App reliability and diagnose faults, the App sends usage, crash and performance events to Google Firebase services. These events can include App interactions (such as which general screens are opened), device/App information, crash details and performance measurements. Your location, the Quran passages you read or listen to, your dhikr and your prayer activity are not included in these events. Usage analytics run without regard to your advertising choice; whether Firebase may use the data for advertising purposes follows the consent you give in the App. Firebase processes this data on Google infrastructure under its own privacy terms.
Advertising
The free version of Tevazu shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Android Advertising ID on Android) to serve more relevant ads. Whether ads are personalised depends on your consent: in regions covered by GDPR, the App presents a Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form, and you can revisit your choice at any time from the in-app Settings. On iOS, you may also be asked separately under App Tracking Transparency.
Subscriptions
Tevazu Pro is an optional subscription that removes ads and supports development. Purchases are made through the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android, and Tevazu does not receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat uses an App-scoped identifier and purchase entitlement state so the App can determine whether Tevazu Pro is active.
On-demand network requests
Some features perform network requests only when you use them. These requests go directly to the relevant service and are not retained by us. For example:
- downloading Quran recitations (from a content delivery network),
- searching for nearby mosques (on iOS through Apple Maps, which receives your approximate area for the search),
- opening directions to a mosque in Apple Maps or Google Maps,
- playing the live broadcasts from Makkah and Madinah (through a video provider).
Notifications
Prayer-time and other reminders are scheduled locally on your device and require notification permission. Tevazu does not send marketing push notifications.
Children
Tevazu is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can revoke location, notification or tracking permission from system settings and reset App data from Tevazu Settings. Advertising identifiers can be reset or deleted through device controls. For requests concerning provider-held Firebase, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer or Meta data associated with an installation, write to [email protected].

International transfers
Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat, AppsFlyer and Meta may process data outside Türkiye and outside your country of residence, including in the United States and the European Union. Transfers for advertising and attribution take place only with your explicit consent; other transfers rely on the safeguards provided for in KVKK Article 9 and GDPR Chapter V, such as standard contractual clauses. Details of each provider’s processing are set out in its privacy terms.
Purposes and legal bases (KVKK / GDPR)
We process personal data:
- to provide the App’s features you request, such as prayer times, notifications and Tevazu Pro access (performance of a contract — KVKK Art. 5(2)(c), GDPR Art. 6(1)(b));
- to keep the App reliable, secure and to fix faults through crash and usage diagnostics (legitimate interest — KVKK Art. 5(2)(f), GDPR Art. 6(1)(f));
- to meet legal obligations (KVKK Art. 5(2)(ç), GDPR Art. 6(1)(c));
- and, only with your consent, to personalise ads and attribute installs to advertising campaigns (explicit consent — KVKK Art. 5(1), GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) — and, where applicable, the GDPR — you have the right to:
- learn whether your personal data is processed;
- request information about that processing;
- learn its purpose and whether data is used accordingly;
- know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom data is transferred;
- request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data;
- request deletion or destruction of data;
- request that third parties be notified of such correction or deletion;
- object to a result to your detriment arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems;
- claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.
To exercise these rights, write to [email protected] or send a written request to the address above. We will reply free of charge within 30 days at the latest. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or, in the EU, to your local data protection authority.
Website cookies
This section covers tevazuapp.com (the marketing site you are reading) — separately from the mobile App described above.
Cookies and local storage we use
The site keeps two preferences it needs to work in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). They stay on your device, are not sent to our server and are not used for advertising or profiling. The site language comes from the page address (Turkish pages live under /); no separate language cookie is written.

- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is loaded only if you allow analytics in the cookie banner. Before you accept, the GA4 library is not loaded and no analytics cookie is written.
- GA4 runs with Google Consent Mode v2: advertising storage (
ad_storage), advertising user data (ad_user_data) and advertising personalisation (ad_personalization) are always denied; only analytics storage is granted. - GA4 helps us understand page and device-level website usage in aggregate; it is not used for advertising or profiling.
- If you consented, clicks on app download links (App Store, Google Play) are counted as an anonymous event together with the page they came from.
- GA4 data may be processed by Google on servers outside Türkiye, including in the United States. If you reject or withdraw consent, analytics is switched off and the
_gacookies set by this site are deleted.
Your choices
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time: reopen the cookie banner with the button below, or clear the site data (cookies and local storage) for tevazuapp.com in your browser — the banner will reappear on your next visit. Under KVKK (Türkiye) and GDPR you also have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data; write to [email protected].
Changes to this policy
When we make material changes to this policy we update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Where a change affects processing that relies on your consent, we will ask for your consent again.
