Surah An-Naazi'aat: Arabic, transliteration and translation

Basmala: بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحٖيمِ

An-Naazi'aat 79:1

وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقاًۙ

Transliteration
Waalnnāziʿāti gharqān

Translation
By those [angels] who extract with violence
An-Naazi'aat 79:2

وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطاًۙ

Transliteration
Waalnnāshiṭāti nashṭān

Translation
And [by] those who remove with ease
An-Naazi'aat 79:3

وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحاًۙ

Transliteration
Waalssābiḥāti sabḥān

Translation
And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming
An-Naazi'aat 79:4

فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقاًۙ

Transliteration
Faalssābiqāti sabqān

Translation
And those who race each other in a race
An-Naazi'aat 79:5

فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ اَمْراًۘ

Transliteration
Faalmudabbirāti amrān

Translation
And those who arrange [each] matter,
An-Naazi'aat 79:6

يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُۙ

Transliteration
Yawma tarjufu alrrājifatu

Translation
On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation],
An-Naazi'aat 79:7

تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُؕ

Transliteration
Tatbaʿuhā alrrādifatu

Translation
There will follow it the subsequent [one].
An-Naazi'aat 79:8

قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌۙ

Transliteration
Quloobun yawmaithin wājifatun

Translation
Hearts, that Day, will tremble,
An-Naazi'aat 79:9

اَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌۘ

Transliteration
Abṣāruhā khāshiʿatun

Translation
Their eyes humbled.
An-Naazi'aat 79:10

يَقُولُونَ ءَاِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِؕ

Transliteration
Yaqooloona ainnā lamardoodoona fee alḥāfirati

Translation
They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]?
An-Naazi'aat 79:11

ءَاِذَا كُنَّا عِظَاماً نَخِرَةًؕ

Transliteration
Aithā kunnā ʿithāman nakhiratan

Translation
Even if we should be decayed bones?
An-Naazi'aat 79:12

قَالُوا تِلْكَ اِذاً كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۘ

Transliteration
Qāloo tilka ithan karratun khāsiratun

Translation
They say, "That, then, would be a losing return."
An-Naazi'aat 79:13

فَاِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌۙ

Transliteration
Fainnamā hiya zajratun wāḥidatun

Translation
Indeed, it will be but one shout,
An-Naazi'aat 79:14

فَاِذَا هُمْ بِالسَّاهِرَةِؕ

Transliteration
Faithā hum bialssāhirati

Translation
And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface.
An-Naazi'aat 79:15

هَلْ اَتٰيكَ حَدٖيثُ مُوسٰىۘ

Transliteration
Hal atāka ḥadeethu moosā

Translation
Has there reached you the story of Moses? -
An-Naazi'aat 79:16

اِذْ نَادٰيهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًىۚ

Transliteration
Ith nādāhu rabbuhu bialwādi almuqaddasi ṭuwān

Translation
When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
An-Naazi'aat 79:17

اِذْهَبْ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ اِنَّهُ طَغٰىؗ

Transliteration
Ithhab ilā firʿawna innahu ṭaghā

Translation
"Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.
An-Naazi'aat 79:18

فَقُلْ هَلْ لَكَ اِلٰٓى اَنْ تَزَكّٰىۙ

Transliteration
Faqul hal laka ilā an tazakkā

Translation
And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself
An-Naazi'aat 79:19

وَاَهْدِيَكَ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشٰىۚ

Transliteration
Waahdiyaka ilā rabbika fatakhshā

Translation
And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'"
An-Naazi'aat 79:20

فَاَرٰيهُ الْاٰيَةَ الْكُبْرٰىؗ

Transliteration
Faarāhu alāyata alkubrā

Translation
And he showed him the greatest sign,
An-Naazi'aat 79:21

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصٰىؗ

Transliteration
Fakaththaba waʿaṣā

Translation
But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed.
An-Naazi'aat 79:22

ثُمَّ اَدْبَرَ يَسْعٰىؗ

Transliteration
Thumma adbara yasʿā

Translation
Then he turned his back, striving.
An-Naazi'aat 79:23

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادٰىؗ

Transliteration
Faḥashara fanādā

Translation
And he gathered [his people] and called out
An-Naazi'aat 79:24

فَقَالَ اَنَا۬ رَبُّكُمُ الْاَعْلٰىؗ

Transliteration
Faqāla anā rabbukumu alaʿlā

Translation
And said, "I am your most exalted lord."
An-Naazi'aat 79:25

فَاَخَذَهُ اللّٰهُ نَكَالَ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَالْاُو۫لٰىؕ

Transliteration
Faakhathahu Allāhu nakāla alākhirati waaloolā

Translation
So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression].
An-Naazi'aat 79:26

اِنَّ فٖي ذٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِمَنْ يَخْشٰىؕࣖ

Transliteration
Inna fee thālika laʿibratan liman yakhshā

Translation
Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah].
An-Naazi'aat 79:27

ءَاَنْتُمْ اَشَدُّ خَلْقاً اَمِ السَّمَٓاءُؕ بَنٰيهَاࣞ

Transliteration
Aantum ashaddu khalqan ami alssamāo banāhā

Translation
Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it.
An-Naazi'aat 79:28

رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوّٰيهَاۙ

Transliteration
Rafaʿa samkahā fasawwāhā

Translation
He raised its ceiling and proportioned it.
An-Naazi'aat 79:29

وَاَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَاَخْرَجَ ضُحٰيهَاۖ

Transliteration
Waaghṭasha laylahā waakhraja ḏuḥāhā

Translation
And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness.
An-Naazi'aat 79:30

وَالْاَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذٰلِكَ دَحٰيهَاؕ

Transliteration
Waalarḏa baʿda thālika daḥāhā

Translation
And after that He spread the earth.
An-Naazi'aat 79:31

اَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَٓاءَهَا وَمَرْعٰيهَاۖ

Transliteration
Akhraja minhā māahā wamarʿāhā

Translation
He extracted from it its water and its pasture,
An-Naazi'aat 79:32

وَالْجِبَالَ اَرْسٰيهَاۙ

Transliteration
Waaljibāla arsāhā

Translation
And the mountains He set firmly
An-Naazi'aat 79:33

مَتَاعًا لَكُمْ وَلِاَنْعَامِكُمْۜ

Transliteration
Matāʿan lakum walianʿāmikum

Translation
As provision for you and your grazing livestock.
An-Naazi'aat 79:34

فَاِذَا جَٓاءَتِ الطَّٓامَّةُ الْكُبْرٰىؗ

Transliteration
Faithā jāati alṭṭāmmatu alkubrā

Translation
But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity -
An-Naazi'aat 79:35

يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الْاِنْسَانُ مَا سَعٰىۙ

Transliteration
Yawma yatathakkaru alinsānu mā saʿā

Translation
The Day when man will remember that for which he strove,
An-Naazi'aat 79:36

وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحٖيمُ لِمَنْ يَرٰى

Transliteration
Waburrizati aljaḥeemu liman yarā

Translation
And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see -
An-Naazi'aat 79:37

فَاَمَّا مَنْ طَغٰىۙ

Transliteration
Faammā man ṭaghā

Translation
So as for he who transgressed
An-Naazi'aat 79:38

وَاٰثَرَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَاۙ

Transliteration
Waāthara alḥayāta alddunyā

Translation
And preferred the life of the world,
An-Naazi'aat 79:39

فَاِنَّ الْجَحٖيمَ هِيَ الْمَأْوٰىؕ

Transliteration
Fainna aljaḥeema hiya almawā

Translation
Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge.
An-Naazi'aat 79:40

وَاَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهٖ وَنَهَى النَّفْسَ عَنِ الْهَوٰىۙ

Transliteration
Waamā man khāfa maqāma rabbihi wanahā alnnafsa ʿani alhawā

Translation
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination,
An-Naazi'aat 79:41

فَاِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ هِيَ الْمَأْوٰىؕ

Transliteration
Fainna aljannata hiya almawā

Translation
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge.
An-Naazi'aat 79:42

يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ اَيَّانَ مُرْسٰيهَاؕ

Transliteration
Yasaloonaka ʿani alssāʿati ayyāna mursāhā

Translation
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival?
An-Naazi'aat 79:43

فٖيمَ اَنْتَ مِنْ ذِ كْرٰيهَاؕ

Transliteration
Feema anta min thikrāhā

Translation
In what [position] are you that you should mention it?
An-Naazi'aat 79:44

اِلٰى رَبِّكَ مُنْتَهٰيهَاؕ

Transliteration
Ilā rabbika muntahāhā

Translation
To your Lord is its finality.
An-Naazi'aat 79:45

اِنَّمَٓا اَنْتَ مُنْذِرُ مَنْ يَخْشٰيهَاؕ

Transliteration
Innamā anta munthiru man yakhshāhā

Translation
You are only a warner for those who fear it.
An-Naazi'aat 79:46

كَاَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُٓوا اِلَّا عَشِيَّةً اَوْ ضُحٰيهَا

Transliteration
Kaannahum yawma yarawnahā lam yalbathoo illā ʿashiyyatan aw ḏuḥāhā

Translation
It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof.
