Surah Ar-Rahmaan in Arabic and English

1. 1 Ar-Rahmaan 55:1

   اَلرَّحْمٰنُۙ

   Transliteration

   Alrraḥmānu

   Translation

   The Most Merciful

2. 2 Ar-Rahmaan 55:2

   عَلَّمَ الْقُرْاٰنَؕ

   Transliteration

   ʿallama alqurāna

   Translation

   Taught the Qur'an,

3. 3 Ar-Rahmaan 55:3

   خَلَقَ الْاِنْسَانَۙ

   Transliteration

   Khalaqa alinsāna

   Translation

   Created man,

4. 4 Ar-Rahmaan 55:4

   عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ

   Transliteration

   ʿallamahu albayāna

   Translation

   [And] taught him eloquence.

5. 5 Ar-Rahmaan 55:5

   اَلشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍۖ

   Transliteration

   Alshshamsu waalqamaru biḥusbānin

   Translation

   The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,

6. 6 Ar-Rahmaan 55:6

   وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ

   Transliteration

   Waalnnajmu waalshshajaru yasjudāni

   Translation

   And the stars and trees prostrate.

7. 7 Ar-Rahmaan 55:7

   وَالسَّمَٓاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمٖيزَانَۙ

   Transliteration

   Waalssamāa rafaʿahā wawaḏaʿa almeezāna

   Translation

   And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance

8. 8 Ar-Rahmaan 55:8

   اَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمٖيزَانِ

   Transliteration

   Allā taṭghaw fee almeezāni

   Translation

   That you not transgress within the balance.

9. 9 Ar-Rahmaan 55:9

   وَاَقٖيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمٖيزَانَ

   Transliteration

   Waaqeemoo alwazna bialqisṭi walā tukhsiroo almeezāna

   Translation

   And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.

10. 10 Ar-Rahmaan 55:10

    وَالْاَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْاَنَامِۙ

    Transliteration

    Waalarḏa waḏaʿahā lilanāmi

    Translation

    And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.

11. 11 Ar-Rahmaan 55:11

    فٖيهَا فَاكِهَةٌۖ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْاَكْمَامِ

    Transliteration

    Feehā fākihatun waalnnakhlu thātu alakmāmi

    Translation

    Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]

12. 12 Ar-Rahmaan 55:12

    وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُۚ

    Transliteration

    Waalḥabbu thoo alʿaṣfi waalrrayḥāni

    Translation

    And grain having husks and scented plants.

13. 13 Ar-Rahmaan 55:13

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

14. 14 Ar-Rahmaan 55:14

    خَلَقَ الْاِنْسَانَ مِنْ صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِۙ

    Transliteration

    Khalaqa alinsāna min ṣalṣālin kaalfakhkhāri

    Translation

    He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.

15. 15 Ar-Rahmaan 55:15

    وَخَلَقَ الْجَٓانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Wakhalaqa aljānna min mārijin min nārin

    Translation

    And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.

16. 16 Ar-Rahmaan 55:16

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

17. 17 Ar-Rahmaan 55:17

    رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِۚ

    Transliteration

    Rabbu almashriqayni warabbu almaghribayni

    Translation

    [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.

18. 18 Ar-Rahmaan 55:18

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

19. 19 Ar-Rahmaan 55:19

    مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِۙ

    Transliteration

    Maraja albaḥrayni yaltaqiyāni

    Translation

    He released the two seas, meeting [side by side];

20. 20 Ar-Rahmaan 55:20

    بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَا يَبْغِيَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Baynahumā barzakhun lā yabghiyāni

    Translation

    Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.

21. 21 Ar-Rahmaan 55:21

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

22. 22 Ar-Rahmaan 55:22

    يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ۬ وَالْمَرْجَانُۚ

    Transliteration

    Yakhruju minhumā alluluo waalmarjānu

    Translation

    From both of them emerge pearl and coral.

23. 23 Ar-Rahmaan 55:23

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

24. 24 Ar-Rahmaan 55:24

    وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنْشَاٰتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْاَعْلَامِۚ

    Transliteration

    Walahu aljawāri almunshaātu fee albaḥri kaalaʿlāmi

    Translation

    And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.

25. 25 Ar-Rahmaan 55:25

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِࣖ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

26. 26 Ar-Rahmaan 55:26

    كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Kullu man ʿalayhā fānin

    Translation

    Everyone upon the earth will perish,

27. 27 Ar-Rahmaan 55:27

    وَيَبْقٰى وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِۚ

    Transliteration

    Wayabqā wajhu rabbika thoo aljalāli waalikrāmi

    Translation

    And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.

28. 28 Ar-Rahmaan 55:28

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

29. 29 Ar-Rahmaan 55:29

    يَسْـَٔلُهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِؕ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فٖي شَأْنٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Yasaluhu man fee alssamāwāti waalarḏi kulla yawmin huwa fee shanin

    Translation

    Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter.

30. 30 Ar-Rahmaan 55:30

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

31. 31 Ar-Rahmaan 55:31

    سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ اَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Sanafrughu lakum ayyuhā alththaqalāni

    Translation

    We will attend to you, O prominent beings.

32. 32 Ar-Rahmaan 55:32

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

33. 33 Ar-Rahmaan 55:33

    يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ اِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ اَنْ تَنْفُذُوا مِنْ اَقْطَارِ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ فَانْفُذُواؕ لَا تَنْفُذُونَ اِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Yā maʿshara aljinni waalinsi ini istaṭaʿtum an tanfuthoo min aqṭāri alssamāwāti waalarḏi faonfuthoo lā tanfuthoona illā bisulṭānin

    Translation

    O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].

34. 34 Ar-Rahmaan 55:34

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

35. 35 Ar-Rahmaan 55:35

    يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِنْ نَارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنْتَصِرَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Yursalu ʿalaykumā shuwāthun min nārin wanuḥāsun falā tantaṣirāni

    Translation

    There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.

36. 36 Ar-Rahmaan 55:36

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

37. 37 Ar-Rahmaan 55:37

    فَاِذَا انْشَقَّتِ السَّمَٓاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Faithā inshaqqati alssamāo fakānat wardatan kaalddihāni

    Translation

    And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -

38. 38 Ar-Rahmaan 55:38

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

39. 39 Ar-Rahmaan 55:39

    فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَنْ ذَنْبِهٖٓ اِنْسٌ وَلَا جَٓانٌّۚ

    Transliteration

    Fayawmaithin lā yusalu ʿan thanbihi insun walā jānnun

    Translation

    Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.

40. 40 Ar-Rahmaan 55:40

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

41. 41 Ar-Rahmaan 55:41

    يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسٖيمٰيهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصٖي وَالْاَقْدَامِۚ

    Transliteration

    Yuʿrafu almujrimoona biseemāhum fayukhathu bialnnawāṣee waalaqdāmi

    Translation

    The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.

42. 42 Ar-Rahmaan 55:42

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

43. 43 Ar-Rahmaan 55:43

    هٰذِهٖ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتٖي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَۘ

    Transliteration

    Hāthihi jahannamu allatee yukaththibu bihā almujrimoona

    Translation

    This is Hell, which the criminals deny.

44. 44 Ar-Rahmaan 55:44

    يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمٖيمٍ اٰنٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Yaṭoofoona baynahā wabayna ḥameemin ānin

    Translation

    They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].

45. 45 Ar-Rahmaan 55:45

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِࣖ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

46. 46 Ar-Rahmaan 55:46

    وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهٖ جَنَّتَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Waliman khāfa maqāma rabbihi jannatāni

    Translation

    But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -

47. 47 Ar-Rahmaan 55:47

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۙ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

48. 48 Ar-Rahmaan 55:48

    ذَوَاتَٓا اَفْنَانٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Thawātā afnānin

    Translation

    Having [spreading] branches.

49. 49 Ar-Rahmaan 55:49

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

50. 50 Ar-Rahmaan 55:50

    فٖيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Feehimā ʿaynāni tajriyāni

    Translation

    In both of them are two springs, flowing.

51. 51 Ar-Rahmaan 55:51

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

52. 52 Ar-Rahmaan 55:52

    فٖيهِمَا مِنْ كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Feehimā min kulli fākihatin zawjāni

    Translation

    In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.

53. 53 Ar-Rahmaan 55:53

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

54. 54 Ar-Rahmaan 55:54

    مُتَّكِـٖٔينَ عَلٰى فُرُشٍ بَطَٓائِنُهَا مِنْ اِسْتَبْرَقٍؕ وَجَنَا الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Muttakieena ʿalā furushin baṭāinuhā min istabraqin wajanā aljannatayni dānin

    Translation

    [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.

55. 55 Ar-Rahmaan 55:55

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

56. 56 Ar-Rahmaan 55:56

    فٖيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِۙ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ اِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَٓانٌّۚ

    Transliteration

    Feehinna qāṣirātu alṭṭarfi lam yaṭmithhunna insun qablahum walā jānnun

    Translation

    In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni -

57. 57 Ar-Rahmaan 55:57

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

58. 58 Ar-Rahmaan 55:58

    كَاَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُۚ

    Transliteration

    Kaannahunna alyāqootu waalmarjānu

    Translation

    As if they were rubies and coral.

59. 59 Ar-Rahmaan 55:59

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

60. 60 Ar-Rahmaan 55:60

    هَلْ جَزَٓاءُ الْاِحْسَانِ اِلَّا الْاِحْسَانُۚ

    Transliteration

    Hal jazāo aliḥsāni illā aliḥsānu

    Translation

    Is the reward for good [anything] but good?

61. 61 Ar-Rahmaan 55:61

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

62. 62 Ar-Rahmaan 55:62

    وَمِنْ دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Wamin doonihimā jannatāni

    Translation

    And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens -

63. 63 Ar-Rahmaan 55:63

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۙ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

64. 64 Ar-Rahmaan 55:64

    مُدْهَٓامَّتَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Mudhāmmatāni

    Translation

    Dark green [in color].

65. 65 Ar-Rahmaan 55:65

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

66. 66 Ar-Rahmaan 55:66

    فٖيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Feehimā ʿaynāni naḏḏākhatāni

    Translation

    In both of them are two springs, spouting.

67. 67 Ar-Rahmaan 55:67

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

68. 68 Ar-Rahmaan 55:68

    فٖيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌۚ

    Transliteration

    Feehimā fākihatun wanakhlun warummānun

    Translation

    In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.

69. 69 Ar-Rahmaan 55:69

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

70. 70 Ar-Rahmaan 55:70

    فٖيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌۚ

    Transliteration

    Feehinna khayrātun ḥisānun

    Translation

    In them are good and beautiful women -

71. 71 Ar-Rahmaan 55:71

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

72. 72 Ar-Rahmaan 55:72

    حُورٌ مَقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِۚ

    Transliteration

    Ḥoorun maqṣoorātun fee alkhiyāmi

    Translation

    Fair ones reserved in pavilions -

73. 73 Ar-Rahmaan 55:73

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

74. 74 Ar-Rahmaan 55:74

    لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ اِنْسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَٓانٌّۚ

    Transliteration

    Lam yaṭmithhunna insun qablahum walā jānnun

    Translation

    Untouched before them by man or jinni -

75. 75 Ar-Rahmaan 55:75

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِۚ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

76. 76 Ar-Rahmaan 55:76

    مُتَّكِـٖٔينَ عَلٰى رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Muttakieena ʿalā rafrafin khuḏrin waʿabqariyyin ḥisānin

    Translation

    Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.

77. 77 Ar-Rahmaan 55:77

    فَبِاَيِّ اٰلَٓاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

    Transliteration

    Fabiayyi ālāi rabbikumā tukaththibāni

    Translation

    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

78. 78 Ar-Rahmaan 55:78

    تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْاِكْرَامِ

    Transliteration

    Tabāraka ismu rabbika thee aljalāli waalikrāmi

    Translation

    Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
