Surah Al-Infitaar in Arabic and English

1. 1 Al-Infitaar 82:1

   اِذَا السَّمَٓاءُ انْفَطَرَتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Ithā alssamāo infaṭarat

   Translation

   When the sky breaks apart

2. 2 Al-Infitaar 82:2

   وَاِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انْتَثَرَتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waithā alkawākibu intatharat

   Translation

   And when the stars fall, scattering,

3. 3 Al-Infitaar 82:3

   وَاِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waithā albiḥāru fujjirat

   Translation

   And when the seas are erupted

4. 4 Al-Infitaar 82:4

   وَاِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waithā alqubooru buʿthirat

   Translation

   And when the [contents of] graves are scattered,

5. 5 Al-Infitaar 82:5

   عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَا قَدَّمَتْ وَاَخَّرَتْؕ

   Transliteration

   ʿalimat nafsun mā qaddamat waakhkharat

   Translation

   A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.

6. 6 Al-Infitaar 82:6

   يَٓا اَيُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرٖيمِۙ

   Transliteration

   Yā ayyuhā alinsānu mā gharraka birabbika alkareemi

   Translation

   O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

7. 7 Al-Infitaar 82:7

   اَلَّذٖي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّٰيكَ فَعَدَلَكَۙ

   Transliteration

   Allathee khalaqaka fasawwāka faʿadalaka

   Translation

   Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

8. 8 Al-Infitaar 82:8

   فٖٓي اَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَا شَٓاءَ رَكَّبَكَؕ

   Transliteration

   Fee ayyi ṣooratin mā shāa rakkabaka

   Translation

   In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

9. 9 Al-Infitaar 82:9

   كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدّٖينِۙ

   Transliteration

   Kallā bal tukaththiboona bialddeeni

   Translation

   No! But you deny the Recompense.

10. 10 Al-Infitaar 82:10

    وَاِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظٖينَۙ

    Transliteration

    Wainna ʿalaykum laḥāfitheena

    Translation

    And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

11. 11 Al-Infitaar 82:11

    كِرَامًا كَاتِبٖينَۙ

    Transliteration

    Kirāman kātibeena

    Translation

    Noble and recording;

12. 12 Al-Infitaar 82:12

    يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

    Transliteration

    Yaʿlamoona mā tafʿaloona

    Translation

    They know whatever you do.

13. 13 Al-Infitaar 82:13

    اِنَّ الْاَبْرَارَ لَفٖي نَعٖيمٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Inna alabrāra lafee naʿeemin

    Translation

    Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,

14. 14 Al-Infitaar 82:14

    وَاِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفٖي جَحٖيمٍۚ

    Transliteration

    Wainna alfujjāra lafee jaḥeemin

    Translation

    And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.

15. 15 Al-Infitaar 82:15

    يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدّٖينِ

    Transliteration

    Yaṣlawnahā yawma alddeeni

    Translation

    They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,

16. 16 Al-Infitaar 82:16

    وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَٓائِبٖينَؕ

    Transliteration

    Wamā hum ʿanhā bighāibeena

    Translation

    And never therefrom will they be absent.

17. 17 Al-Infitaar 82:17

    وَمَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدّٖينِۙ

    Transliteration

    Wamā adrāka mā yawmu alddeeni

    Translation

    And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

18. 18 Al-Infitaar 82:18

    ثُمَّ مَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدّٖينِؕ

    Transliteration

    Thumma mā adrāka mā yawmu alddeeni

    Translation

    Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

19. 19 Al-Infitaar 82:19

    يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔاۜ وَالْاَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلّٰهِ

    Transliteration

    Yawma lā tamliku nafsun linafsin shayan waalamru yawmaithin lillāhi

    Translation

    It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
