Surah Al-Inshiqaaq in Arabic and English

1. 1 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:1

   اِذَا السَّمَٓاءُ انْشَقَّتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Ithā alssamāo inshaqqat

   Translation

   When the sky has split [open]

2. 2 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:2

   وَاَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waathinat lirabbihā waḥuqqat

   Translation

   And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]

3. 3 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:3

   وَاِذَا الْاَرْضُ مُدَّتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waithā alarḏu muddat

   Translation

   And when the earth has been extended

4. 4 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:4

   وَاَلْقَتْ مَا فٖيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْۙ

   Transliteration

   Waalqat mā feehā watakhallat

   Translation

   And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]

5. 5 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:5

   وَاَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْؕ

   Transliteration

   Waathinat lirabbihā waḥuqqat

   Translation

   And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] -

6. 6 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:6

   يَٓا اَيُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ اِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقٖيهِۚ

   Transliteration

   Yā ayyuhā alinsānu innaka kādiḥun ilā rabbika kadḥan famulāqeehi

   Translation

   O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it.

7. 7 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:7

   فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُو۫تِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمٖينِهٖۙ

   Transliteration

   Faamā man ootiya kitābahu biyameenihi

   Translation

   Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,

8. 8 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:8

   فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسٖيرًاۙ

   Transliteration

   Fasawfa yuḥāsabu ḥisāban yaseerān

   Translation

   He will be judged with an easy account

9. 9 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:9

   وَيَنْقَلِبُ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُورًاۜ

   Transliteration

   Wayanqalibu ilā ahlihi masroorān

   Translation

   And return to his people in happiness.

10. 10 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:10

    وَاَمَّا مَنْ اُو۫تِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَٓاءَ ظَهْرِهٖۙ

    Transliteration

    Waammā man ootiya kitābahu warāa thahrihi

    Translation

    But as for he who is given his record behind his back,

11. 11 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:11

    فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا ثُبُورًاۙ

    Transliteration

    Fasawfa yadʿoo thuboorān

    Translation

    He will cry out for destruction

12. 12 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:12

    وَيَصْلٰى سَعٖيرًاۜ

    Transliteration

    Wayaṣlā saʿeerān

    Translation

    And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.

13. 13 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:13

    اِنَّهُ كَانَ فٖٓى اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُورًا

    Transliteration

    Innahu kāna fee ahlihi masroorān

    Translation

    Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness;

14. 14 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:14

    اِنَّهُ ظَنَّ اَنْ لَنْ يَحُورَۚۛ

    Transliteration

    Innahu thanna an lan yaḥoora

    Translation

    Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah].

15. 15 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:15

    بَلٰىۚۛ اِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهٖ بَصٖيرًاۜ

    Transliteration

    Balā inna rabbahu kāna bihi baṣeerān

    Translation

    But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing.

16. 16 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:16

    فَلَٓا اُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِۙ

    Transliteration

    Falā oqsimu bialshshafaqi

    Translation

    So I swear by the twilight glow

17. 17 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:17

    وَالَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَۙ

    Transliteration

    Waallayli wamā wasaqa

    Translation

    And [by] the night and what it envelops

18. 18 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:18

    وَالْقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَۙ

    Transliteration

    Waalqamari ithā ittasaqa

    Translation

    And [by] the moon when it becomes full

19. 19 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:19

    لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍۜ

    Transliteration

    Latarkabunna ṭabaqan ʿan ṭabaqin

    Translation

    [That] you will surely experience state after state.

20. 20 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:20

    فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَۙ

    Transliteration

    Famā lahum lā yuminoona

    Translation

    So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe,

21. 21 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:21

    وَاِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْاٰنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَؕ

    Transliteration

    Waithā quria ʿalayhimu alqurānu lā yasjudoona

    Translation

    And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]?

22. 22 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:22

    بَلِ الَّذٖينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَؗ

    Transliteration

    Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona

    Translation

    But those who have disbelieved deny,

23. 23 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:23

    وَاللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَؗ

    Transliteration

    WaAllāhu aʿlamu bimā yooʿoona

    Translation

    And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves.

24. 24 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:24

    فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ اَلٖيمٍۙ

    Transliteration

    Fabashshirhum biʿathābin aleemin

    Translation

    So give them tidings of a painful punishment,

25. 25 Al-Inshiqaaq 84:25

    اِلَّا الَّذٖينَ اٰمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ

    Transliteration

    Illā allatheena āmanoo waʿamiloo alṣṣāliḥāti lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin

    Translation

    Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted.
