Surah At-Taariq in Arabic and English

1. 1 At-Taariq 86:1

   وَالسَّمَٓاءِ وَالطَّارِقِۙ

   Transliteration

   Waalssamāi waalṭṭāriqi

   Translation

   By the sky and the night comer -

2. 2 At-Taariq 86:2

   وَمَٓا اَدْرٰيكَ مَا الطَّارِقُۙ

   Transliteration

   Wamā adrāka mā alṭṭāriqu

   Translation

   And what can make you know what is the night comer?

3. 3 At-Taariq 86:3

   اَلنَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُۙ

   Transliteration

   Alnnajmu alththāqibu

   Translation

   It is the piercing star -

4. 4 At-Taariq 86:4

   اِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌؕ

   Transliteration

   In kullu nafsin lammā ʿalayhā ḥāfithun

   Translation

   There is no soul but that it has over it a protector.

5. 5 At-Taariq 86:5

   فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَؕ

   Transliteration

   Falyanthuri alinsānu mimma khuliqa

   Translation

   So let man observe from what he was created.

6. 6 At-Taariq 86:6

   خُلِقَ مِنْ مَٓاءٍ دَافِقٍۙ

   Transliteration

   Khuliqa min māin dāfiqin

   Translation

   He was created from a fluid, ejected,

7. 7 At-Taariq 86:7

   يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَٓائِبِؕ

   Transliteration

   Yakhruju min bayni alṣṣulbi waalttarāibi

   Translation

   Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs.

8. 8 At-Taariq 86:8

   اِنَّهُ عَلٰى رَجْعِهٖ لَقَادِرٌؕ

   Transliteration

   Innahu ʿalā rajʿihi laqādirun

   Translation

   Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able.

9. 9 At-Taariq 86:9

   يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَٓائِرُۙ

   Transliteration

   Yawma tublā alssarāiru

   Translation

   The Day when secrets will be put on trial,

10. 10 At-Taariq 86:10

    فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍؕ

    Transliteration

    Famā lahu min quwwatin walā nāṣirin

    Translation

    Then man will have no power or any helper.

11. 11 At-Taariq 86:11

    وَالسَّمَٓاءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِۙ

    Transliteration

    Waalssamāi thāti alrrajʿi

    Translation

    By the sky which returns [rain]

12. 12 At-Taariq 86:12

    وَالْاَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِۙ

    Transliteration

    Waalarḏi thāti alṣṣadʿi

    Translation

    And [by] the earth which cracks open,

13. 13 At-Taariq 86:13

    اِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌۙ

    Transliteration

    Innahu laqawlun faṣlun

    Translation

    Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement,

14. 14 At-Taariq 86:14

    وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِؕ

    Transliteration

    Wamā huwa bialhazli

    Translation

    And it is not amusement.

15. 15 At-Taariq 86:15

    اِنَّهُمْ يَكٖيدُونَ كَيْدًاۙ

    Transliteration

    Innahum yakeedoona kaydān

    Translation

    Indeed, they are planning a plan,

16. 16 At-Taariq 86:16

    وَاَكٖيدُ كَيْدًاۚ

    Transliteration

    Waakeedu kaydān

    Translation

    But I am planning a plan.

17. 17 At-Taariq 86:17

    فَمَهِّلِ الْكَافِرٖينَ اَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا

    Transliteration

    Famahhili alkāfireena amhilhum ruwaydān

    Translation

    So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile.
